Haewon has always had a passion for helping others in needs. This has motivated him to work with the public in a variety of roles and settings such as senior homes, hospitals and homeless shelters. His love for volunteer work and adventure has led him to spend some time in other countries as well, which has helped shape him into a more open minded and an empathetic individual.
While in the massage therapy program at MacEwan University in Edmonton, he has had an ample opportunity to work with the public in the MacEwan school clinic, a senior home, daycare, and the Roger’s Centre with the school athlete teams. He has treated clients with acute, sub-acute, chronic, and post surgical conditions, and some with special needs as well.
Haewon also had the unique experience working at the Lois Hole Women’s Hospital in Edmonton while attending the university. This has helped him to understand the needs of female clients, especially those that are pre and post natal. The experience, combined with working with the pregnant population during the special population course has helped elevate his appreciation and understanding.
He utilizes various techniques such as deep tissue, trigger point release, manual lymphatic drainage, dynamic cupping and joint mobilization to work on the clients. Haewon understands that everyone’s needs and goals are different and makes sure to come up with an individualized treatment plan, including the home aftercare.
In his spare time, Haewon loves to spend time cooking, camping, swimming, and spending time with friends and family.
