Sarah Shen is a registered Acupuncturist, registered Massage Therapist, TCMD and MD (China). Sarah graduated from the Calgary College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture in 2012. She successfully completed her provincial license exam and qualified as a registered Acupuncturist as a member of CAAA. Sarah has practised traditional acupuncture since 2011. Pursuing an advanced acupuncture course in Beijing in May 2015, she now practices ‘one needle technique’ for soft tissue injury.
Additionally, Sarah graduated from the Professional Institute of Massage Therapists in 2009. As a member of the MTAA, having completed the 2200 hour program, she is currently practicing therapeutic massage including trigger point therapy, myofascial release, reflexology and other techniques. Previously, Sarah taught therapeutic massage courses for five years for the CCTCMA. Through teaching, she has enhanced both her knowledge of theory and practical techniques.
Prior to moving to Canada in 2005 Sarah was a medical oncologist in China for fifteen years. As a specialist, she treated and was successful in achieving remission for over three thousand patients. She also published two books as an associate writer, and three theses as an academic author.
